I can’t believe it! Wednesday my baby girl turned 11 years old. It seems like just yesterday she was just a blink in my eye and now she’s turning into this beautiful young lady.
We had a very simple day. DD wanted to go out to eat at the Bungalow for her birthday but we had swim practice in the afternoon so we went out for lunch. All of us ordered too much food, but thankfully we brought it home for leftovers later.
After lunch, DH took the kids out to the trails to hike while I stayed home and made her a birthday cake. They were gone for a couple of ours and walked some of the trails in the Manistee National Forest. The kids LOVED it even though they had to leave early due to there being a race being held that day. I was a little bummed about not being with them, but didn’t mind staying home to bake Meg’s cake.
The order? A french vanilla cake with strawberry filling, buttercream icing and strawberries/white chocolate on top. It was delicious.
Unfortunately, I thought I took a picture of DD blowing out her candles, but somehow that picture didn’t survive. (Also, I’m not sure what that is on the side of the cake – maybe my lense was dirty. Who knows).
The kids went off to swim practice and DD was thrilled! Her friend Jenny gave her a Webkinz for her birthday. Wasn’t that nice?
All in all a wonderful birthday for DD. If you’re wondering what she got for her birthday, we did a combined gift for DD and DS for their birthdays. They got a Wii (which we have ALL been enjoying). 😀
Happy Birthday Sweet Daughter of Mine!
